Dear Residents in Ward 4,

When Marietta and I decided to expand our winery in Grimsby, we needed someone who understood the municipal process and could help us navigate the planning and zoning challenges. Reg stepped up, connected us with the right people at Town Hall and worked with us to move our project forward. Today, our expanded winery is successfully operating, and Reg's knowledge, persistence and collaborative approach played an important role in making it happen. He later invited me to serve on the Grimsby Economic Development Advisory Committee, where I worked with him for more than two years.

We were also honoured to host Reg's Economic Development Gala fundraiser at our winery, which raised $70,000 for McNally House. I saw firsthand his ability to provide clear leadership, bring people together and turn ideas into meaningful results for Grimsby.

Reg is a committed, capable and collaborative leader who understands that getting things done takes vision, persistence and teamwork. I am proud to have worked with him and support his continued service to the residents of Ward 4.

I've been around a while and Reg is, bar none, the most dedicated, caring, and productive councillor I have ever dealt with. He helped us work through some challenging property issues, as well as various other local concerns important to us. He willingly offered his support, listened thoroughly, and then always followed through with action. Getting to know him has been a privilege.

We will be forever grateful for his perseverance and dedication to us and to his constituents. We're sorry to hear he has moved to Ward 4 but they'll quickly learn how lucky they'll be to have him as their representative.

It is a pleasure for me to support Reg Freake for re-election as a councillor for Grimsby Council. Reg has had a long and distinguished career in business leadership and the experience we badly need, as we continue in these challenging times.

During his time on Town Council, Reg has brought a strong and reasoned voice to council discussions. His experience and perspective have made a major contribution to the work of our municipality.

I am over 90 and I canvassed door to door for Reg when he ran in Ward One. I believe him to be a man of integrity who strongly works for the people he represents. And he has 8 years of proof & experience. I highly recommend him to the voters of Ward 4. Your gain, our loss.

I think Reg is the best choice for councillor for the residents of Ward 4. He was my councillor for 2 terms, and my experience is he calls back, follows up, and gets action on issues. He has been a strong voice for us, and I believe he will be that voice for Ward 4. I also appreciate that he has been successful bringing jobs and investment to Grimsby that diversifies the tax base.

We are glad to hear that Reg (Freake) has decided to run for Town Council again. We are pleased to learn he is running in Ward 4 where he now lives.

Reg has been a consistent voice at Council, showing leadership on tough issues and, for us, demonstrating he can find solutions through collaboration.

His support for eliminating the proposed Livingston Road extension through the Woodlot and his support of the Grimsby Wetlands are important to Ward 4. We know Reg supports Grimsby's natural heritage.

Reg Freake is a retired business executive and since moving here has been committed full time to supporting the Grimsby community and its residents.

Reg was my Councillor in Ward 1 when he first ran for office in 2018. He is now living in and running as a Ward 4 Councillor. Whenever I contacted Reg for any issues I was having personally or in my neighbourhood Reg was available and showed up to help.

Reg has served on several local committees and recently as the Chair of the Grimsby Economic Development Advisory Committee (GEDAC). I believe his work has been important in bringing in much needed new businesses that increase tax revenue to the town which supports our own property tax load.

Reg also understands that Grimsby is the “Gateway to Niagara” where we already attract many visitors to visit our famous “Gingerbread Cottages” and those on their way to visit Niagara wineries and other natural and cultural attractions across the Region.

The residents of Grimsby have been fortunate in having Reg as part of our community.

I am pleased to express my support for Reg Freake as Councillor for the Town of Grimsby.

Throughout his service to our community, Reg has shown professionalism, a strong understanding of the needs of local businesses, and a genuine commitment to the people of Grimsby. What I have particularly appreciated is his accessibility—he responds to questions and emails, makes himself available, and takes the time to listen to the concerns of residents and business owners.

My relationship with Reg dates to his first term, when he recommended me for the biodigester investigation. Throughout the years, I have known him as a consistently respectful member of Council who brings serious and thoughtful insight to council.

I've known Reg for four years, since meeting him through his work with the Grimsby Economic Development Advisory Committee. As a realtor and entrepreneur, I've seen how much he cares about making Grimsby a place where businesses want to open and people want to stay.

In my work, I meet people every week who want to build their future here: buy a first home, start a business, raise a family in the town they love. Reg understands that.
